As I am sure you are all aware there have been some important developments lately dealing with the local and the contract.

Locally, Russ Spina has decided to step down from his position as President. As dictated by the by-laws, Council Creech has assumed duties as the President, leaving the Vice President spot vacant.

Because less than half of the term has been completed, an election will be held to fill the position of VP. This election will follow the same protocols as the previous full term election. We will be accepting nominations for this position at a meeting to be scheduled in the near future.

Additionally, Scott Conrad has returned from deployment and will resume his duties as Board Member at Large.

As I am sure everyone is well aware, the Company and Union have reached a tentative agreement. AE and the TWU have finished compiling the articles and the TA will be out for membership review in a matter of days. There have been three documents released for membership review. The first is a 12 page "Fact sheet" outlining the differences between the current TA and the current contract. The second is the full TA and the third is a compilation of the side letters. All of these documents will be available for review by the membership so that they can make an informed decision when it comes time to vote.

Also, as you review these documents we would like for you to write down any questions you may have and submit them to a union rep so that we can research them and provide you with concrete answers. We will be scheduling station meetings, probably on or around February 24, to go over the TA with the membership and answer these questions.

As a reminder, with all these events there will be items that will be required to be sent to a good mailing address. Please get with a union rep and make sure that your address is current.
